Working collaboratively to build resident trust
At our most recent workshop with borough partners, we explored how we can collectively work to build resident trust, so that residents continue with and complete the process of making their homes energy efficient.
Following earlier problem statement workshops this Summer, Warm Homes: Local Grant borough partners from the London Boroughs of Merton, Wandsworth & Richmond, and the West London Alliance unpacked challenges they had faced in trying to make the retrofit journey more transparent, supported and inclusive for all.
Real world trials that had already had success in answering some of these challenges were teased out, to see what opportunities they contained. This included thinking about how Wandsworth and Richmond's 'Warmer Home Packs', simple packs containing radiator reflectors and draft excluders to peak resident interest in retrofit, could be evolved and scaled even further across the 31 boroughs in our consortium. Many thanks to our borough partners for continually sharing their time and expertise.
Warmer Homes London is a partnership between the Mayor of London and London Councils, to help collectively address the challenges surrounding effective retrofit in London. Our aim through Warmer Homes London is to accelerate the retrofit feedback loop, and make sure our delivery partners have the opportunity to share, deploy and scale effective learnings that are grounded in residents' lived experiences.
Our Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Strategic Partnership delivery team have also been working with partners and residents on a comprehensive toolkit that helps support resident-facing officers to measure and improve resident satisfaction with their retrofit experience. This toolkit will be launched later in the year.
